Early Childhood Resources

Did you know that in Mecklenburg County, less than 1/3 of children who are four years old have access to public pre-kindergarten? Decades of research have shown that pre-k learning makes a difference in the school readiness of children. Not just in the short-term to get children ready to succeed in school, but in the long-term as children grow up, seek to become employed and contribute to the strength of the economy. Now is the time for us to Pave the Way to Pre-K to ensure that all students are prepared to succeed when they reach kindergarten.

Please download the attached Communication Toolkit and visit to make the Pre-K Paves the Way Promise. We are counting on you to spread the message that we need voluntary, universal pre-k in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Please share with your networks today.
